If you’re remotely interested in technology, do yourself a favor and stop by Northfield tonight: P.W. Singer will be giving a talk at Norwich University called NextTech: The Future of Technology, Security, and Threats. The talk will take place at 7:00PM, and will be followed by a book signing with Singer and his co-author, August Cole.
Peter Warren Singer is Strategist at New America and an editor at Popular Science magazine. He has been named by the Smithsonian as one of the nation’s 100 leading innovators; by Defense News as one of the 100 most influential people in defense issues; by Foreign Policy to their Top 100 Global Thinkers List; and by Onalytica social media data analysis as one of the ten most influential voices in the world on cybersecurity and 25th most influential in the field of robotics.
Along with Cole, Singer wrote the 2015 novel Ghost Fleet, a book that depicts a World War III scenario between China, Russia, and the United States, and which examines how technology plays a role. It’s a fantastic novel, and I’d highly recommend it.
If you can’t make the lecture tonight, it will be streamed online.
