Main Street Landing’s theater will be screening The Princess Bride tonight at 7:00pm! Tickets are free, but are first come, first serve.
Plot: A delightfully postmodern fairy tale, The Princess Bride is a deft, intelligent mix of swashbuckling, romance, and comedy that takes an age-old damsel-in-distress story and makes it fresh. This is a an beloved and enchanting classic that has only gotten better with time. Patinkin’s performance is especially touching. He can say, “My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die” — and make you laugh, cry and cheer at the same time. The movie, two hours of pure enchantment, has the same effect.
