Announcement: GMS Book Club: Ancillary Justice

Sci Fi Fantasy Book Ancillary Justice

We’re pleased to announce the book for our August GMS Book Club meeting: Ancillary Justice, by Ann Leckie. Here’s the plot of the book:

On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest.

Breq is both more than she seems and less than she was. Years ago, she was the Justice of Toren–a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of corpse soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy.
An act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with only one fragile human body. And only one purpose–to revenge herself on Anaander Mianaai, many-bodied, near-immortal Lord of the Radch.

This is a fantastic space opera: I read it last year, and greatly enjoyed it. It’s also been nominated for just about every SF award out there. Come join us on August 7th, at 7:00pm at the Pierson Library in Shelburne. RSVP here.

Our next book club will feature The Emperor’s Blades by Brian Stavely, which will be on July 1st at 7:00pm.
