HUG the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, Noon, Saturday, January 12

HUG the Athenaeum

Join Rural Librarians Unite in an exciting opportunity to show your support for Vermont libraries. Sort of a flash mob, library supporters will surround the St. J. Athenaeum with a “hug,” and a message that “People Make the Library”. This event is also endorsed by the Vermont Library Association, and there will be media coverage, fanfare, and hot cocoa as well.

This event was organized in response to last month’s decision that resulted in layoffs of the entire library staff in St. Johnsbury. RuLU came together to advocate for Vermont libraries and say that people, not just collections, that make libraries vibrant, dynamic, and treasured community spaces.
